State of Mind

Life is but a beautiful experience, we are influenced by so many things. As humans we are part of nature and I do think that nature has great intentions on each and every entity.

I weep for reading an article on a 6 year old girl being raped, what has the world come too? Our future leaders are abused in every way, what kind of a society are we going to have? http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/6-year-old-raped-at-Eastern-Cape-school-20130222

I carry on with life pretending as if these things do not happen. But I ask myself what has the world come to? You'd be surprised to know that people justify this by saying that in the animal kingdom things like rape do happen.

Everyday when I wake up I know there's another day to make things better, I dedicate this to every person who has been over-powered by another person to do something without their consent. This is my prayer for you, every day makes things right, living a miserable life will steal the fundamental beauty of life.

From a woman in tertiary that will one day make a difference.

I dedicate this song by Judith especially the words 'fly away my heart don't despair the world is full of joy we cry & smile & we dance...

WEEK TEN UPDATE-Media Markets and Challenges to Informed Citizenship

This week we all have three things, which are:
-completing the blog workshop two evaluatios.
-meet with our news team and discuss our next and final news article.
-the blog

Well with my group and I we have planned to meet later this week to finalise everything with the article.

Here is an article on Media Freedom

Well I have started structuring my interview that will be in Durban, Isipingo Hills. I will interviews some proffessionels and what my neighbours think about media freedom. Personally Media Freedom has both disadvantages and its advantages, as the government may put false information to manipulate people and that South Africa is a democratic country it should have Media Freedom.

WEEK 9 UPDATE-Digital Literacy and Digital Citizenship in the Information Age

Well its back to business as we are coming from a mid-term break.

This week there are no tutorials

We have to do all the required reading based on the quiz.
The first reading by Dan Flecher is about friends that meet online specifically through facebook he speaks about how people have showed their emotions and basically writing about their daily routines on-line, which in the past decade was rear to occur. Well in my opinion thats not an advisable thing to do since people can stalk you easily as a person displays their wereabouts on an international scale.

The other readings for this week are optional the first one from Charles Peterson
and the last one is titled The Medium is the Message.

Our lectures this week are focussed on democracy

This topic (democracy) has been a topic done to death but these lecture notes considers the factors in which democracy happens which is good to read for us South Africans as we live in a democratic country.
